THE THINKING BEHIND HAPPYBRAIN

Good practice begins
with curiosity.

Playful activities. Useful habits. An honest relationship with the science.

A place to explore what your mind can do

HappyBrain is a collection of 150 games and practical tools, alongside 50 guides to memory, attention, reasoning, language, spatial thinking, math, creativity, learning, planning, and calm. You can start anywhere, without an account.

Our activities include 30 interaction families, with five focused variations in each. Variations change the material, rules, or task demands. For example, recalling digits in reverse asks something different of you than recognizing familiar symbols. Each variation has its own page and instructions.

What practice can—and can’t—tell you

Repeated practice often improves performance on a practiced task. That doesn’t establish that a game raises general intelligence, treats a health condition, prevents dementia, or produces broad improvements in everyday functioning. HappyBrain makes none of those promises.

Think of scores as feedback on a particular activity, on a particular day. They are not clinical measurements, rankings of intelligence, or a basis for comparing people. Sleep, stress, experience, and the device you use can all change the experience.

Look for the connection to daily life

Our guides pair ideas with concrete exercises: recall information before checking your notes, make time for focused work, plan a next step, or try a new way of describing a problem. If you want to improve a real-world skill, practice that skill in its real setting too.

How we use evidence

Guides link to relevant original research or authoritative public resources. Some findings come from narrow laboratory tasks and may not generalize to every person or situation. We explain limitations where they matter and avoid turning associations into guarantees. This is general educational content, not clinical advice.

Make it comfortable

Choose a manageable challenge. Read the instructions before timed rounds. Pause or stop whenever you want. Breathing tools use gentle pacing; breathe normally if the pace feels uncomfortable. There’s no need to hold your breath or push through discomfort.

Privacy by design

Saved activities, reading progress, and session history use storage in your browser. No account is required, and scores aren’t sent to a HappyBrain leaderboard. The hosting provider still processes ordinary web requests. Read our privacy information for details.
